How We Started
Family Focus Christian Counseling was the vision of Dan Desmond and a dedicated Board of Directors and was brought to life in 1999. Since that time, Family Focus has opened its doors to people from all walks of life who have been or are seeking help in their personal lives, marriages, families, or are seeking spiritual and personal growth. Counselors at Family Focus continue to have a sincere heart for people and for assisting them through difficult seasons, transitions, or times of crisis that are a normal part of daily life. We desire to be an extension of God’s love and care for the hurting people of San Diego County and beyond by providing competent care and support through therapy.

Our mission is to serve and support those who seek help through counseling, intervention, training, and education for individuals, couples and families. We believe that change begins in the heart through personal choice as individuals seek direction and healing in their lives. While we are a religious 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we serve individuals of all faiths and backgrounds.

The staff at Family Focus Christian Counseling meet every person, couple or family right where they are. We assist clients in successfully navigating their journeys towards wholeness, health, and healing in relationships with self and others throughout their daily life circumstances. We offer acceptance and grace to all as we assist them in achieving their goals for their current season of life.
